4:35 PM | CLOSING KEYNOTE: YOUR MISSION IS YOUR BRAND
Dr. Melanie Dreher, PHD, RN, FAAN Chair Trinity Health Board of Directors
Leading with courage and self-confidence is the natural consequence of a mission-driven career – living, loving and working with purpose and meaning. In the competitive, fast-moving workplace of today, it is easy to become so devoted to “being successful,” that we become the victims of our own career plans. Our carefully designed trajectories can often restrict, rather than optimize, the creativity and the deep, intuitive understanding of people that make women so effective in so many fields. It may be time to re-visit your “career plan,” and reflect on your passion as well as your gifts. Identifying and living your mission is the essence of success.
As a nurse, anthropologist, educator and board director, Dr. Dreher will draw examples from her own career of four decades to reflect the emergence of women as national decision-makers and persons of influence. We will learn how to be “mission driven” when navigating career choices and the importance of making a difference while we’re making money. Our mission is our brand.
